Does anyone know if the PW switches were originally connected to unswitched power for the
63-67's Corvettes so as to work without the ignition key?  Thanks

I really have very little use for power windows in my Mid Year ..
BUT they will not function without the ignition key turned on....

I have had the car for many years BUT that does not mean they came
this way fro the Factory..    The NCRS should be able to answer your
question....

AFAIK, no maker allows windows to work without keys due to the safety
issue (kids choping off kids heads... <g>)

But, that is not to say it hasn't been done!

The power window circuit is powered through a relay which is located behind the
left kick panel, which is fed primary power to the relay coil from the fused
accessory slot in the fuse box. It is powered only in the "accessory" or "on"
positions of the ignition switch. Secondary power (for the window motors) comes
through a circuit breaker also located behind the kick panel, and then switched
on & off by the relay. I don't know where the actual secondary power feed to the
breaker comes from--It is not shown in the schematic for the car, nor is it
shown in the A31 sheet in the assembly manual. If you want to have the windows
work regardless of  whether the ignition switch is on or not, just feed the
secondary power to the relay from a source that is live all the time. As far as
I know all 63-67's were wired the way mine is, as stated above.
