Okay, here is the million dollar question. What car care products are the best to use? I need a plastic cleaner / conditioner, leather cleaner and wax / polish. I know all of the major companies advertise they have the best products, but what to professionals use? Meguior, Armorall, Mothers? Thanx I like Mothers, and Meguior <sp?> products. If overall look is not as important but life of the wax job is, then I use Nu-Finish (orange bottle) as I've found it lasts much longer than anything else I have tried (and I've tried them all!) Armor-all... Some love it, some hate it. Once on, it *never* comes off, so if you decide you don't like the look of shiny interior plastic, you are stuck... Some say it damages the plastic--I've not seen that, and have seen no firsthand examples, just FOAF ancidotal stories. I don't use Turtle Wax normally. Seems to last only a short time (compared to NuFinish) and is more expensive overall (IMHO... <g>) If you are into show, and not wear/lasting, either Mothers or Meguior products are great for that. Also if (only if!) you are into show, look into 3M glazing compound. It will help remove swirl marks that have been rubbed into the finish. Expensive, but it is the ultimate polishing compound. For some leather it works well, but other leather it can be a problem. If you try it, test well in a non-visible area first to make sure it doesn't discolor or otherwise cause a problem. By pacing yourself, where you start and end on the leather will look consistant. Too many times, by the time you get to the end, you are tired, and rush. hth, tom @ www.Love-Calculators.com |
