My father-in-law's 96 Chevrolet Cavalier suddenly stalled out at a
traffic light last week.  I checked last night and it cranks fine, but
nothing is firing.  I checked the codes and got 1. It was P0335,
"Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction".  Can I just replace
the crankshaft position sensor? I am absolutely no mechanic, but can
follow instructions to the letter.  Any websites out there with
instructions? Should I buy the Hayes manual for this one job?
Thanks

No replys yet! Argh.  Does anyone know where this thing is? I'd rather
not have to go out and buy a manual just to find out the wire has been
disconnected or just needs cleaning etc

I know that.  I say that in my question. Where is it on my cavalier?

Well, not said clearly... <g>

Try the front of the block, near the harmonic balancer. That's a
guess, btw, but that is where many GM ones are.
