I have a 1994 Buick Roadmaster with 120000m and was it needs a 100,000 mile
tune-up..problem is the price..does it really cost $1000 to tune this baby?

That or more.

Look at the recommended service for that mileage interval and price it out.
The list is quite long and extensive (much more than just a "tune-up")
Although $1000 seems about $200-$300 too much to me.

PLUS, IIRC that car has the Corvette-style LT1 engine with Tuned Port
Injection.  As another poster said, read the recommended procedures
suggested, and at today's labor rates--not to mention parts costs--$1000 may
just be in the ballpark.  Been my experience with a few of these engines,
mostly in 'vettes and Z28's that with good, clean, "normal" maintenance &
regular servicing, one might pass by some of the more expensive 'suggesteds'
and go as high as 160-170-180,000 miles and still running sweet.  With good
service, the longevity of that engine is phenomenol--they just do not wear.
Good luck, s
