I have a 1994 Buick Roadmaster with 120000m and was it needs a 100,000 mile
tune-up..problem is the price..does it really cost $1000 to tune this baby?

Look at the recommended service for that mileage interval and price it out.
The list is quite long and extensive (much more than just a "tune-up")
Although $1000 seems about $200-$300 too much to me.

PLUS, IIRC that car has the Corvette-style LT1 engine with Tuned Port
Injection. As another poster said, read the recommended procedures
suggested, and at today's labor rates--not to mention parts costs--$1000 may
just be in the ballpark. Been my experience with a few of these engines,
mostly in 'vettes and Z28's that with good, clean, "normal" maintenance &
regular servicing, one might pass by some of the more expensive 'suggesteds'
and go as high as 160-170-180,000 miles and still running sweet. With good
service, the longevity of that engine is phenomenol--they just do not wear.
