My 96 Mazda Protege starts to shake noticeably when I start driving on
the highway between speeds of 70 - 80 mph.  Any tips or advice before
I take it to the auto mechanic? Thanks!

If you mean the steering wheel is what's shaking primarily, it's likely
your front wheels are out of balance.  Of course, it could be any of
several potential problems with your suspension.

I found a previous car I had would only shake at specific speeds.  I
looked at the tires and found a tiny weight fell off.  The metal clicp
was there, but not the weight.

Might have to have  your tires rebalanced, if you have the same
situation I did.
