I have had 1997 350 with electronic Ignition.  Can anyone offer advise on
how to properly set the timing on this puppy? Do any wires have to be
disconnected when adjusting?

By chance could you be referring to a GM truck of one sort or
another?

If so, the ignition timing is referenced off of a fixed
crankshaft position sensor, there is no timing adjustment
possible.

It's a GM motor, but it's actually on a boat.  There is a distributor hold
down bolt and you can twist the dist. back and forth.
