My son-in-law has a 2000 daewoo...brake lights will not come on...bulbs and
fuses are ok...is there a sensor on the brake pedal that maybe causing our
problem??? or what else should we be looking at?

Mounted on a bracket near the brake pedal is the "brake light switch"  Check
to see if there is 12 volt to it, if you have voltage disconnect the harness
and with an ohm meter check the switch, when the pedal is up there should be
an open circuit and when you press down you should get a reading on the
meter, if not the switch is bad.
