Tire Pressure Question

I know that tire pressure should be measured when tires are cold. If
I drive 5 miles to a service station over city streets, are my tires
going to be warm enough to give too high a pressure reading?

Also, are the digital tire gauges any more accuate than the standard
$1.99 tire pressure gauge?

Thanks!
Scott

5 miles will make a difference, maybe a large one depending on road
temperature.

Mechanical gauges are 'usually' more accurate, they just push out as far
as they can so they are stable.  If it's off say 2 psi, it usually will
always be off that.  The digital ones have a plus or minus factor that
can change each time it's used.  They also are crap in the real cold,
batteries tend to not work well when frozen.
