I have 2 problems with my 1990 Buick Riviera, not sure if they are
related, b/c they began at the same time.
First, I noticed the keyless entry wasn't working, so I thought the
battery in the fob died.
I then tried to push the auto lock/unlock button on the inside of the
door to no avail. Locking/unlocking can only be done manually now.
The next day, the dashboard lights went out. with only "00" for speed,
"ERROR" in odometer & red 'Electrical Problem' idiot light.
However, this problem is intemittent, as the regular lights sometimes
light up for a while, then shut off again, all during a 15 minute trip.
Hitting the "test" button lights up everything normally. A good smack
above the display gets it to come back on, but not regularly. Worked
once about 2 days ago, and once today.
Ideas?????????????????

I think you can reset the remote by turning the key on and holding down a
button on the
remote for 10 sec.

Not it. To reset remote, you must jump the remote box located in the
trunk while pressing the key.
Not the problem.
On the door itself there is a manual latch to lock/unlock the doors,
plus 2 buttons (electronic) to do the same. Even pushing these electric
buttons does nothing. I must lock by using the manual latch.
No electric locks, intermittent dashboard, no map lights.
