I'll be honest I know very little about cars, I'm trying to learn more
and would appreciate some help troubleshooting. What is this weird
noise coming from my car? It seems to make a popping noise
intermittently when driving, especially on bumps and turns. I made
certain that nothing is in my trunk and it still does it. I got out
started shaking my car from the side and found the noise. It's coming
from the rear tires, both sides are doing it. I also noticed something
by accident, if I have the E-Brake up all the way it doesn't make the
noise. Is this more likely to be a loose brake pad or wheel bearing?
The brakes are old, but my mechanic said recently they have a lot life
left on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like Very loose wheel bearings. Without knowing make model
year of the car, can't say if they are replacable by the each or by
the assembly. Get it checked real soon before something important
falls off and kills someone.

On;y if the ball bearing is consistantly being flatspotted or hitting
a spalled part of the race.

Got it checked out, mechanic thinks it's the ball bearing, he said $90
for both to be replaced. I'm getting it done this friday.
Thanks for your help.
