So, I'm preparing for a long drive and want to get my car examined
beforehand. Anyone have any recommendations for mechanics in the area? Last
time I did this, the buffoon that worked on my car barely put the oil cap
back on, which would've caused problems had I not noticed it immediately.

In any case, I'm trying to avoid a similar situation, so suggestions would
be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

LOL!

You might want to give us a little clue as to what part of the world you
live in....

Word of mouth is usually the best way to find good ones though....

This is an internet newsgroup, read and posted to, by people all over the
world. It is impossible to tell where you are, so if you would mention that
part  of the equation someone may be able to help. However, one place to
look is at the mechanix files on cartalk.com. Readers there recommend
mechanics from all over the u.s.
