I am shopping for a full sized P/U with an extended cab. I like the Titan
king cab but I am a little concerned about the rear door configuration.
When I opened the front and rear door, I noticed there wasn't a center beam
dividing the two.  The doors simply latched at the bottom and top of the
door jam.  I worry about how this setup would fare in a side impact
collision.  Also, when shutting the front door you can see movement in the
adjacent rear door.  I looked at the crash test ratings but side impact
tests were not performed.

Has anyone else considered the Titan king cab or know of any side impact
crash test results?  Is this a common configuration for extended cabs or do
other makes incorporate a center beam between the two doors?

Many thanks in advance,

Mark

All the cab and a half trucks are like the King Cab Titan. You can get a
true four door pick-up and get the center beam.
