Coincidence? Left tire wear / bad right side bearing?

I just put 1 + 1 together and started wondering if two problems I have
are related.  I've got a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX with 70K.  The front
left tire is wearing very fast even though I got the wheel alignment
serviced (unsuccessfully) last year - AND the car makes a grinding /
rubbing sound (from the front right) when making wide sweeping turns to
the left (which has me thinking it has a bad right front wheel
bearing).

Do you think the left side tire wear and right side noise / wheel
bearing problem are related in some way?

Thanks for your ideas.

Does it really matter? If you know the right bearing is bad, fix it and go
from there.

You had an "unsuccesful" wheel alignment? What does that mean? They couldn't
align it, or it didn't resolve the problem with the left tire wearing?

Have you checked the brakes? A dragging brake could do this.
