Renault Megane -- Knocking noise...

Hi,

My wife got a 1999 Renault Megane Coupe.  The car starts making a knocking
sound (coming from the front left of the car) when you go over speed bumps,
or hit a hole in the road.  It almost sounds as if the engine loose, or a
mounting broken.

I had a look under the bonnet, but can’t find anything obvious that might
be loose or broken.

Any ideas / advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Front strut is loose, or bearing worn or broken.

It's not a difficult job for a mechanic to do, but you will most likely need
an alignment once it's done.
