I have an '98 Buick Century currently with 40K miles. I intend to drive it
for many more years, putting on about 6K miles per year.

I need tires (we live in Michigan so I want good all-season tires). I need
P205/70--R15.  I've narrowed it down to:

Goodyear Viva 2 from Walmart (60K mile warranty)-- $376.

Kelly Navigator Gold (70K warranty) from Belle Tire ($373. less a $20.
coupon for $353). Belle Tire has plenty of outlets where I drive.

So, if both tires are totally comparable, I guess the latter is best (less
cost, longer warranty)

But, are both tires comparable??

In MHO, there isn't an American tire worth the money...   Others may
have different feelings, though.     Try Yokohama, Toyo or Michelin.  If
you get Michelin ( my preference), I can guarantee you'll never wear
them out.   Yoko's can be a great deal if you get the right type tire.
Toyo's are good also, but I've never used them...    There are no
standards, between companies, for measuring the wear index, but the
tires with the higher numbers are usually the better choice.
