Hello
I am looking to buy a used Volkswagen (2-3 years old, 20k-30k miles on
it). This is the first time I will be buying a car in USA.

I've been getting conflicting opinions on whether it's better to buy
cars off certified dealers vs non-certified dealers.

Some people are saying that you can get the same car (same condition
etc) from a non-certified dealer for a couple grands less. Is this
true?

Does anyone have any stories/experience of buying from a certified vs
non-certified dealers?

Thanks
Harsh

What do you get for the extra money? Probably insurance (aka, a warranty).

Price the cars at a certified dealer and uncertified dealer. Determine
whether the extra warranty is worth the extra price. Then buy accordingly.

Also, you are buying a car with the manufacturer's warranty still in place.
So you probably are not gaining much by going to a certified dealer. You can
learn about the certification at www.vw.com (certified pre-loved button).
