I just found out at www.claimsreporter.com that apparently most Insurance company policies require the use of certified factory parts for collision repairs.  They also said that most repairs have no warranty unless issued by the repair service and not the Insurance company!  Does anyone know if and who is reponsible for a bad repair job that needs to reworked?

Why would the insurance company insure the repairs? That is up to you and
the repair center to negotiate. The insurance company pays you a certain
amount of money based on the damage and on the value of the car. It is up to
you to do whatever you want with it. You can use the money to repair the
car, buy a new car or by a new Mac computer if you want. Once the insurance
company hands over the money, it is your problem, not their's, because they
have fulfilled their obligation to you.

If the repair job is bad, it is up to you to go after the repair center. The
only exception would be if the repair center is owned or operated by the
insurance company or has a contract with the insurance company.
