Automotive Excellence and Douglas A. Kukucka

Automotive technical talent and proficiency is more than an overnight
adventure but a passion that never ends.

From the time he was young, Douglas A. Kukucka has engineered his future
in the field of automotives by tinkering with small engines of all
sorts.  This progressed into a new found hobby and business after his
graduation from high school.  Douglas A. Kukucka graduated from a
Vocational Technical High School in Maryland and was selected as a back-
up team member for the Plymouth Troubleshooting Contest.  Though the
contest was cancelled when Chrysler suffered huge financial losses and
filed for bankruptcy.  After graduation, Douglas A. Kukucka worked a few
years rebuilding components for General Motors Detroit Diesel Engines at
a local factory reconditioning engine shop.

After some thought, Douglas A. Kukucka decided to attend college at the
University of Maryland with a major in Mechanical Engineering.  To fund
college, he opened a small shop repairing, reconditioning, and performing
performance modifications to automobiles.  He has expertises in all
aspects of automotive work.  Such expertises include, diagnostics,
engine/transmission rebuilding, body work, paint work, electrical, sound
systems, alarm systems, performance modifications, electrical, HVAC,
exhaust, brakes, suspension, welding, etc..  While attending college
(senior year), Douglas A. Kukucka participated as a team member in the
design and creation of a mini-Formula 1 vehicle as a member of the engine
team.  Such dedication by his team-mates and him kept the University of
Maryland in the high rankings of colleges to beat in national
competitions.  Mr. Kukucka also participated in research and design work
involving conversion of a GM product to M85 fuel for an EPA sponsored
competition.

Mr. Kukucka spends a lot of his spare time researching all aspects of
engine development.  Specific interests include intake ducting,
alternative fuel systems, forced induction, and combustion/engine
processes to name a few.  Mr. Kukucka believes such research and hands-on
expertise shall ultimately lead to patents that take the automotive
industry to a new level.  He also spends his leisure time
repairing/restoring and modifying his own Ford vehicles including
technical modifications to meet his performance needs.

With so much technical talent displayed by this individual in the field
of automotives and engineering, American ingenuity is alive and well.  
For such a combination of skills and love for the automobile is what led
to the automotive and performance revolution in the United States long
ago!
