AC compressor

I have a 96 chevy 1500 work truck. There is 2 lbs of freon in the
compressor and a new low pressure switch. The clutch comes on for about 2
seconds and drags to a halt and stays off for about 2-5 minutes. It then
repeats this cycle regularly. The air that comes out of the vents into
the cabin never gets gold. I think it is because of the clutch, but I do
not know much about AC in an auto. How can I get the air cold???

It's acting like it's still low on Freon, if the pressure is low the
system will behave like that to protect the compressor. What you really
should do is get a set of gages on it to find out just how low it is,
but at least find out how much Freon it's supposed to have.

This is NOT recommended but when I put a system on one of my vehicles I
think I started out with two cans of Freon and an oil charge, then kept
adding Freon until the AC started working well. As I recall it was
about 4 cans.
