I think I'm going to set my 1971 f100 long bed 360 v8 to tow a smaller
trailer or 5th wheel or camper in the bed. I am doing this so my mom
can go camping with the family without sleeping in the dirt and she
will have a fridge and cooking ect.

I'm a little worried how much I can safely tow or carry in the bed.
Should I be planning on extra spring support on the rear end, maybe
some air shocks. And if mom does not feel safe with what we are towing
- she might not even come. So I have to get this right.

I'm really thinking camper in the bed would be the best. Towing a
trailer is no fun. And if she really gets into it we can look at other
options. BUT I've got to make it feel safe not over loaded or anything
lke that,

Jimi, there is a MSN Group you might want to check out, they deal with
older travel trailers, campers and the vehicles that move them.
