Anyone know of any aftermarket mounting brackets that are made to
mount those f#$%^& glass mounted rear view mirrors? I have given up
on gluing them. I have not had a mirror in my car for several years.
Gluing them to the glass is one of the most assenine things ever done
in the auto industry. I used to re-glue them every year, but that got
real tiring. I precisely followed directions and they would hold till
a real hot or real cold day and fall off. I just bought a new *used*
truck. A week later we had a cold snap to 20deg. The next day the
mirror was on the floor. Either I find a bracket that attaches to the
trim above the window, the roof, the dash, anywhere ***NOT*** attached
to the glass..... or I wont have a mirror. I am not playing this
glue game any longer. Anyone know of any websites or catalogs where I
can get something? Dont waste your time telling me it's against the
law to mount it anywhere else. It's probably against the law to not
have one too. I really dont care about the law in this matter, and I
highly doubt that cops check to see how a mirror is mounted anyhow. I
just want a mirror that is going to stay where it belongs, not on the
floor.

Try a wrecking yard. Look at the imports and take one that looks
about right and will mount up OK. Some of them 'snap' into a bracket
under the mirror stand.
