My wife's 2000 Lincoln Continental has 108,000 miles. Lately, we've noticed
a "thumping" noise underneath in the back (in the middle of the car) when going
over an above average bump in the road. I'm thinking the exhaust system may
be loose and rattling around. Or, could the rear shocks be worn out? I'll have
a mechanic take a look. Are there any other possible explanations?
Thanks!
Scott

...or you could have a loose tire jack or bowling ball in the trunk.
