A question was raised that was a bit uncommon and I figured I would
run it by everyone here to see if you could all reach deep into the
recesses of your memories and provide some info on it. I figure that
with the collective knowledge pool available here we can come up with
something pretty definite.
Were there cars made that were short-wheelbase hatchbacks and rear
wheel drive, besides the Chevette? Perhaps the Pinto, but that's not
really the shape I'm looking for. Every other car (Rabbit, Omni, etc)
in that shape has been front wheel drive.
All info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
John

Good choices. The Gremlin is cool in its goofy way. :) A friend had
1972 Gremlin when I was in high school... He beat the daylights out of
that thing. It started out as a Gremlin X but got a straight-6 and a
3-speed stick transplanted into it.
Thanks for the info,
John

The GLC is RWD? I always though it was FWD. Learn something new
every day, huh? :) THanks for the info.

How about the one that started the hatchback craze? The MGB GT.

Those are definitely neat. How is parts availability for those?

Not a problem. There are enough mail order places like Moss Motors and Victoria
British to get anything you want. You can actually build a brand new 1970 MGB
GT like mine out of the Moss catalogue. 'course it would be very expensive.
Just a little trivia. Ford designed the Pinto to compete with the MGB GT, thus
starting the hatchback competition.

That's interesting, about the Pinto. I had forgotten all about Moss
Motors. I actually got a catalog from them years ago in the mid 90s.

Yes, good one. Those Toyotas will go forever, from what I've seen.
