Hello everyone:
I'm a car enthusiast who likes to keep his cars in showroom finish.
All my life I've been using "Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell" which is a
pretty decent wax for the price.
Lately I've come across some new products from Turtle such as "Turtle
Carnauba Car Wax" and their latest, "Platinum Ultra Gloss".
Keep in mind that I'm from the Canadian east coast so our winters are
BRUTAL. Waxing our vehicles up here is not a luxury ... it's a
necessity if you want to keep your car more than 5 years.
Which wax do I use ?? I'm looking for two things: One is PROTECTION
DURABLITY, and the other is a good SHINE.
The conflicting view points I've heard is that "Turtle Wax Super Hard
Shell" lasts longer than "Turtle Carnauba" or "Ultra Gloss", however
it has less of a shine. That leaves me with the impression that you
can have good protection, but with less gloss.
Another conflicting question: Between "Turtle Carnauba" and "Turtle
Ultra Gloss", what the hell is the difference? Is one better than the
other??
The "Turtle Wax" website does not shed any light on which wax is
better .. all they do is lay out their products and leave the consumer
to decide .... like that's really helpful.
I'm hoping there's somebody out there who could help me.
Thanks.
Jim.

Jim:
My results & experience with Amsoil's Car polish has exceeded my
expectations. Along with the car polish, I also use the Miracle Wash
Amsoil has. You can see these products at www.lubedealer.com/hiebert
Your comment about "keeping your car more than 5 years" caught my eye.
When using Amsoil's synthetic engine and drive train lubricants and
related air & oil fiters, I expect to achieve a minimum of ten years.
I live in the west coast and I admit our road & driving conditions are
perhaps not as severe but still is damp, can get cold enough and the
road salt w/ wear on a car.
Hope this helps you.
