Mazda Protege - water on floor

I'm taking on water on the passenger side of my 2000 Mazda Protege.
We've had a prolonged period of drought here in the midwest, so it's
definitely not rain leakage.  It happened last summer, also, but the
dealer can't seem to find what's wrong.  I've also taken it to an
independent mechanic who can't figure it out, either.  Today I found
standing water in the back passenger side, so it's not just a couple of
drops.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks for any help.

Well the first thing that came to mind was a plugged drain line from
the air conditioner evaporator. If your using your air and its humid
out the frost that builds up on evaporator needs to drain out through
the hose. If you had water all the time I would have said heater core.
Sometimes you can run a little wire bent into a hook on the end ,run it
up the hose and pull some of the dirt/whatever thats plugging it. The
hose will be on the passenger side of the firewall under the hood.

Should not be too hard to remove the front passenger seat (4 bolts), lift
the mat a bit, and trace the water to it's source. Maybe also dip a finger
in the water, smell, and touch it to your tounge to see what it tastes like.

Are you the only one who uses the car?

I don't advise tasting it. Maybe some wino is using your car while it's
parked.
Despite the drought, that water might have been sitting there for a
month since the last rain. And don't you wash the car occasionally? It
just sounds like a body leak that went undetected a long time.
