I have a problem getting my engine to continue running after starting.
I replaced the fuel solenoid, but the engine will die after starting.
The truck will run fine if I tie open the solenoid.  I have to untie
the solenoid to stop the truck.  Apparently the "hold" function on the
solenoid isn't working.  I have tried two new solenoids.  Any ideas on
how to fix this problem?

I would say check the power supply to the solenoid with the ignition switch
in the run position.  Could just be a burnt fuse or a bad circuit from the
run position in the ignition switch.  Although,  I can't imagine why you
would have tried two new solenoids without already checking that.
