You mean like when the "Charity" sells it to a illegal BEANER and they don't
register it in their name?
You mean when the local police call and tell you YOUR car has been found at
the scene of an accident?
You mean when YOU get 15% of what it was worth in a write off?
You are MUCH better off selling it private party then EVER donating it!!!
Do the math..KBB says the car in fair condition is worth $3000.
You get a tax write-off of around $450......
Sell it quickly for HALF of the book for $1500!!!
You take home $1050 MORE than your write-off AND you notify your local
state DMV who you sold it to.
DONATING A CAR TO A CHARITY IS f.cking STUPID!!!!!

Not only do you get a call that YOUR car just caused an accident, you then
get served with a lawsuit, because the charity failed to transfer title to
themselves. Happens a lot. Have seen the stories on the mainstream media.
On the other had, how do you know that a private party you sell it to is
every going to moter vehicle and get the paperwork done correctly to
transfer ownership?
