ok i changed my spark plugs a a week ago and the reason i did that was the
car was backfiring and was nt running right, now i get new plugs and it
wouldnt start with the gap at 0.050 i went online and got info that said
it was 0.035, now it starts but its running rough like it backfires when
accelerating and when i let off on the gas sometimes, im not all
experienced with cars but ive learned alot in the past few years.

More than likely you need a new OptiSpark distributor. The Opti going out is
a common problem on LT1's. The Opti is located behind, and below the water
pump. A common reason for failure is when the water pump goes out, it leaks
on top of the Opti, so it's best to replace both at the same time. Count on
a full afternoons work, and about $600 including gaskets and antifreeze etc.
