Just returned from the Bowling Green Kentucky Corvette Museum Birthday Bash.
Great vendor and museum exhibits and several C6's to sit in.  Also toured
the Corvette manufacturing plant.  According to the tour guide they are
currently producing about 300 C5's per day with around 10 or so C6's per
day.  Come July full C6 production will start.  I listened to several
presentations in the corvette museum theater on the C6.  Dave Hill was the
intro speaker.  I was surprised that he did not express more passion for the
corvette in his presentation.  I was very impressed with the value and
technical features of the new C6.  Fit and finish looked best ever.  Door
and hood gaps appear to have much tighter tolerances.  The door sounds
awesome when closed.  Interior materials are of higher quality than ever
before.  Seemed to be much easier to enter and exit the C6 than the C5.
They would not provide pricing yet but promised no surprises.

- DVD GPS info in Heads Up Display
- In Dash 6 disc CD player that now plays MP3's and has input for external
players
- 10" door speakers
- Keyless entry and ignition
- Thumb button on grab handle to open door
- no exterior mechanical door handle
- stick is standard now, auto is option
- new color available:  burnt orange / copper
- auto blinker for lane changes
- GM to now sell authorized Corvette specific accessories

Thanks Lloyd,
That is some interesting info to hear !  I will have to check out the Museum
Web cam's more often and see if I can find a C6.
That is neat about the HUD for the GPS, good idea !
Nice to hear about the new interior as in looking at some of the photos, it
looks cheaper, more like a Buick interior.

One dumb question. What is the "auto blinker for lane changes" ?  Just like
the headlight flash ?  (ie turn signals not locked on, but on while you are
pulling back on turn signal ?)
Thanks again !

If it's like the others Time/distance turns it off.

on the C6 you can now just tap the turn signal and it stays on for 3-5 secs
while you change lanes
