I've just started a project 1985 Corvette with my son. First car work I've
done in 20 years, and it's more fun the second time around.
I pulled the Bose radio to find that the previous owner seems to have cut
the wiring connector off of the harness. Imagine my surprise. Anyone know
where I can get a wiring diagram? Is it worth it to try and rewire a new
connector or am I better off replacing the speakers and running new wiring.
I'm planning on replacing the Bose unit(s).
Second question. How many speakers should I have in an 1985 Corvette with
the Bose radio. Currently I have six. There is one in each door and they do
not look like they belong there.
Thanks,
Ronin

Thanks Joe. I've got a copy of the manual coming.

The speakers should be in the door with Bose, I had one in the past, and
even though the dash pad has speaker grilles, mine didn't have speakers
tehre, it was Bose, and as the other guy said, the Haynes manual is ok for
that model year.
As a side note, I've had lots of trouble with Bose amps, though to keep
everything "stock" I either rebuild them, or last time just bought some from
Iggy Castro. (didn't have time to screw with the repair.)
