Panty Concerns

I've decided that since I'm going to put a bra on my car, I'm going to
protect the rear of my car with a panty.  With the nice slim lines of an
early C3, I can use a thong style on my car.  C4s are still relatively
slim, so they can wear a bikini style panty.  With that big ole butt on
the C5s, they need "full" size.  And C2s?  They would have to wear those
little old lady drawers...you know, like pantaloons with those goofy
long legs.  I think it's a great marketing idea.

"big ole butt on the C5s"  ??

Hey watch it Diode, C5's have nice butts.  If you in to today's teens with
the 24 inch waist, they maybe. C5 is more like Angelina Jolie, Victoria
Secrets models or a J.Lo butt, nice, round and firm <g>

Do you know that in Santa Paula, "built up butt" plastic surgery is more
common then any other "enhancements"( real story)

Now C6's....they have a real live "bubble-butt"

Thong panties on a C3 ?  nay might look sleazy and like a fart can honda or
mustang. I'd try "Luv's Diapers" or "Depends for Men" as she is a 36 year
old lady and thongs might be uncomfy.

My first thought on both the Bra and Panty matters was to e-mail Pamela
Anderson, but then I remembered...she doesn't wear them

Ken,
Don't even think about sending her that email. I would hate the thought
she might start wearing them !
I think who-ever invented the Tie for men and the Bra for woman should have
been jailed for that idea. Actually that goes for the same person that
decided C5 should shift from 1st-->4th gear.

My '93 had that "feature" too.  Easy enough to defeat with a $15 part from
Eckler's.  The dash light still comes on though, if that would bug you. I
don't notice it.  Nor, on my car, does it log a code. It might on your C5.

Whoa I was backward on that one. Before I bought my C5, I was thinking that
damn shift thing was only on C4's so when I got the C5, it was a surprise to
me and did not see the light for a while as it always came on at the worst
times which was leaving a back road and taking a very sharp left on to a
fast moving road and the thing always came on right in the middle of the
turn (Two lanes turning at the same time so you had to watch out for the
other person) and then hardly having any power in 4th to get moving fast.
So after a little Internet research, found one article on one of the
vette forums on how to defeat it. Was a weird way with a extra relay added
to the trans. and a large wattage resistor to "fool" the system into
thinking the shift defeat was engaged, looked like a good several hour job
that I almost did. However the Ecklers catalog came and could not believe it
was so simple and cheap to do!  Best upgrade I have made.
If you just unplug the relay on the trans, it will throw a code, but not
with the plug. Yes the light still comes on and sometimes I get a evil grin
on my face when it's telling me how to drive and I say "forget it"

Has GM also installed recorders in vettes as they have done on their
minivan's? The legal system here in Canada has used this recorder for the
first time as proof in a high speed accident where someone innocent lost
their life.Just imagine getting pulled over by a cop and he pulls out a hand
held reader and starts writing out your tickets.
Just a nightmare I had,
Don

Long time ago. Typically stores the last 5 seconds prior to impact. Read
up and loose the nightmare.

That 5 seconds can be expanded on pretty easily, Bob.  All it takes is
memory.  Look how much "data" you can store on your average iPod these
days...

If "they" wanted 5 minutes or five hours, it wouldn't require much
memory at all. Thats exactly the point, all they are interested in is
the crash or "near crash" parameters so they only are storing off the 5
seconds to impact. I just love these black helicopter guys, always
figure that it's designed for someone to "spy on them", but typically so
uninformed that they wouldn't know if some one was reading their
harddrive! :-)

Sorry I didn't pick up on the start of this thread and I haven't
Googled this.  Has NHTSA written some regulation that gives the
auto builder or the courts some rights to the data?

Not a lawyer I, but my initial thought is that if it's an owned
vehicle, the owner possesses the rights to the data (unless GM
only 'licensed' the use of the memory component.)  If the vehicle
is leased then all bets are off.

As far as the cops are concerned, I'd be tempted to think that it's
either a "taking" or an illegal seizure; however, one might have
cops, insurance company, GM and others ganged up to take pot shots
and the cost of appeals would be horrendous.

Just for chuckles, I'll toss this one at a couple of golf buddies who
are of the legal persuasion-- either I'll get a quick answer or it will
ruin all conversation on the back nine.  [:-(

I think you pretty much have it figured correctly Mike, the information is
there and those that can will use it to relieve you of your rights and
worldly goods.

Thanks Bob for the URL,

I hadn't realized this was a government initiative to gather
highway safety related crash data.  That raises a bunch of
questions as to the rights to the data.

I also didn't realize that the data capture included
configuration info like 'seat belt fastened' etc.

Thanks again,  "Mike"

You're welcome, I would rather read informed discussions about the topic
than some of the imaginative claims that usually result when someone
mentions "black box". :-)
