'04 speaker replacement

The same dealer that put a small hole in my rocker panel is going to replace
my speakers.
I'd rather not even let them see my car again, but they have to fix the
rocker and at same time they are going to replace two blown/crackly
speakers. (I actually think it's possible something is not hooked up
correctly, or might even have a short or loose connection somewhere).

Is there anything too involved in this project I should watch for?
Is it an easy job?
I really don't want anyone taking anything apart on this, but I can't handle
the sound.
I expect perfect sound for what I bought.

If these guys redeem themselves on my repairs and treat me right, I'll
likely take my car back to them in the future and maybe even trade up there
in a couple of years on a C6.
If they so much as put a scratch on my frame, they'll never see me again,
though they are likely to hear from my attorney.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
TF

Why are there so many people that must cruise through life treating other
people like sh.t?
Must suck to be you...

How would you like to be the guy that has to deal with this guy every
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning?

Uhh. let's see.
I checked in with the closest dealer, that would be my regular service dept.
just to check a few things and let them know they would be servicing my car
for the time I have it.
I almost bought a car from them, but they didn't have the one I wanted.

Then, they put a f.cking hole in the rocker.
WTF would you do?
Band new, driven off a showroom floor and hadn't even made a payment.
I've since talked to quite a few people and every one of them said they
would be really pissed and never take their car back to the same place.
I'm giving these guys more slack than everyone I talk to...
I didn't put the f.cking hole in it and the speakers were this way on my
drive home with the car.

Now tell me what you would do?
Pussy up to them..."uhh, it's O.K. you can damage my car I don't care...see
you next week"..???

Yeah right.

Dear Idiot,
Replacing speakers is easy. Remove panel. Disconnect wires. Unscrew and
remove old speakers. Attach new speakers. Attach wires. Replace panel. This
means you actually have to do something yourself. Hey, there's and
idea...doing something yourself! Anyways, Crutchfield has a nice assortment
of speakers. They even have techies to call when helpless idiots, like
yourself, can't figure anything out.

Dear dumbfuck,
I design ASIC, (that's computer chips for the clueless) and I designed and
repaired audio equipment for a couple fo years.
The f.cking car is under full factory warranty, i.e. I don't pay jack for 3
years for anything wrong with it.
What part of this do you not understand?
I had the car in for that and to check a noise.
Now, do something useful; go f.ck yourself!

Shut up, dave.
Professional driver on a closed course.  Do not attempt.
Actual mileage may vary.

He's much better off not knowing what actually goes on inside the
service dept.....
It's like making hotdogs in a Haitian factory. LOLOL
I worked as the Asst. Service Mgr for a few years at a big dealership in
the area.
I quake every time I have to take mine in... And make DAMN SURE only a
select
couple people have access to it. More and more are moving on, so I'm
running out
of old friends there..

I've seen some VERY SCAREY sh.t in my day. <shutter>
Line mechanics here just bounce from dealership to dealership when they
get pissed or screwed.. GM just doesn't pay enough hours to do warranty work
and the dealers just don't pay enough line salary to keep people....
except for
the very few elite tune-up area guys and one tranny guy and generally
one alignment guy.
They do well, but the rest are just taken advantage of, IMHO.
