The bulb socket has a latch on the side that you have to lift to rotate the 90 degrees required to get it out. If you can get it up (the car) it's easier to remove the spoiler tip and the access panel to change the bulb.

From the CorvetteForum:
Turn on the headlights and back off one position to kill the lights.
Unscrew the 3 small screws on the black plastic housing around the headlight. Gently pull the housing clear.
Reach down around the headlight unit and release the bulb holder. It unscrews counter clockwise but it has a plastic clip which you need to squeeze to release it.
Change the bulb. Reseat the bulb holder and turn until it clicks back in place.
Put the plastic housing back in place making sure to locate the small plastic tab in the bracket on the headlamp cover. Replace the 3 screws and close the lights.
10 minute job.
3057 bulb works.
An alternate way, if you have small hands:
Push your fingers into the air vent below the light. Push it back and out of the way.
Turn your hand upward and remove the socket as described above and pull it out of the air vent.
Change the bulb and reverse the process to assemble.
For either way, do not touch the bulb with your bar hand/fingers. Wear surgical gloves or something similar. The oil from your hands will shorten bulb life.

00C5Don3 - 29 Jan 2005 18:24 GMT 99C5Alan has best directions. Oonly addition, after removing headlamp housing, open the hood. Allows larger arms to easily reach bulb holder assembly, once you releash the bulb holder, push brake duct out of way and you can easily see the entire assembly.
10 minutes, YES !
Cheers, Don
Stephen Horrillo - 30 Jan 2005 12:44 GMT My right front turn signal bulb is blowing out around once a month. What could be causing this?

It is a PITA to change. I finally got mine changed by having the headlights up and working from the top. I was not easy but can be done. If you have a rack working from the bottom may be easier. You need long skinny arms.

You just rotate/push the assembly upward from the outside and prop it open with something (I use the top of a water bottle) while you change the bulb.

The brake duct that needs moved is not screwed or latched fast, just some easy detents to pop loose if you come in from the bottom, recommended.

ROBERT S AMP BA Drake - 17 Jan 2005 14:36 GMT Sounds like it might be easier to quit using my turn signals!

Nobody said it was easy but it can be done. The left front C5 DRL/Turn is really hard to reach. May be easier if you had a rack to get at it from the bottom. With no rack you need long skinny arms.
