On most cars the headlamps are grounded near the socket, not at the switch.
Are both going off? Most are grounded separately. You would be well off next
time to tell us what the vehicle is.

My bad.. I just remembered that and came back to fix it ..thanks for the
quick reply though. its a 76
Yes they both go out If the highbeams are on all 4 go out I tried some
trouble shooting the other night and i found something else might be
pertinant <SP> info (my vacuum system dosent work) but if the headlights are
down and i turn them on i get the blue high beam light inside and the lights
DO NOT come on until the until I go pull them up.
After there up when they do go out the blue highbeam light inside comes on
So basicly when my switch is pulled out and the lights are off I have the
blue highbeam indicator light once the lights come on the high beam
indicator light goes off
this is just as confusing to type as it is to trouble shoot sorry ..ill
try to answer more questions
