TF - 12 Mar 2005 18:17 GMT Traveling down a local highway last night in right lane and this Surban starts creeping into my lane on purpose. The passenger, a young female is watching me get pushed off the road and laughing her a.s off. They clearly saw me, as they started moving over behind me. I called the cops on them for road rage and I hope they had just enough alcohol in them to go to jail.
Then on my way back through town, the young punks on the road who think their little lawn mower engine cars can take a real sports car is amazing. They throw sh.t out the window, spit, mouth off and race like they are in a freaking movie. I suppose the good thing is, the way Beaverton cops are all over and they have cameras where they are not, is they won't be on the road very long.
I've had people mouth off, flip me off, spit out their window, try to run me off the road, try to race, kick my car, ride over it with a skateboard, you name it. What the hell is wrong with the jealous losers in this world? Oh, they are jealous losers; I guess that is enough.
Just too bad I can't enjoy what I worked all my life for with all the a.sholes out there. TF
Zorin Inc. - 12 Mar 2005 19:38 GMT I know what you mean, I had someone spit their chewing tobacco on mine just the other night, good thing it was just on the rear glass instead of the paint. That kind of BS will get you shot in the right (wrong) neighborhoods.

I've owned Corvettes since I was quite young and I've never had any problems with ill-mannered or rude folks that I can recall. I'm certainly more aware and vigilant of other drivers when out toolin' about in the '67 and I think I'd easily identify anyone's behavior that seemed targeted at me. Seems most everyone I encounter either dont' take notice of me just like when I'm driving my truck or wife's sedan or else they do notice and give me a wave, thumbs up, smile or nudge'n'point to their buddy/girlfriend/kid/parent.
TF, you certainly seem to have more than your share of problems. Did all this start since getting the Corvette or, perhaps, do you feel you've been subject to mistreatment by others most of your life? Here's waving to ya - \||||

He hangs out at Fred Meyer on Saturday nights. I'm wondering if he pissed some people off :) Probably not, as he seems like a nice guy. I just am amazed by the number of jerks out there. It's much better in the daytime. I think all the punks are inside playing video games then. TF
JOEVET - 17 Mar 2005 17:37 GMT I have to say compared to your area -N.Y. ers are very courteous . Never had any problems like that!

This get more comical by the moment. I live in an area where there is considerable $$. No, not quite like the bay area or S. Cal, but nonetheless, I cann't believe the jealousy, animosity and vandalism that exists here. TF

Obviously, all these folks are pissed off at him for a reason.
He must exude ASSHOLEidness.
Charlie - 20 Mar 2005 11:30 GMT You're not kidding. I've never gotten anything like that. I get more people complimenting me about my car than anything. Or girls flirting, even with the wife in the car with me. I have a few people try and race me, mostly young guys that just want to see a Covette go fast. One day a Mustang with a guy and girl in it started playing with the wife and I. I decided to play back. We raced a while, I beat him easily. When we stopped at the light at the exit, he was grinning from ear to ear. He told me that's the car I want one of these days.

Zorin Inc. - 20 Mar 2005 13:32 GMT I had a cop do almost that same thing. He came flying up next to me, looked over and grinned, and punched it and took off like a rocket. Really wierd, like he was challenging me, or maybe he was a homo. lol Middle of the night and no other cars on the road, maybe I should have showed him what it could do for a couple miles. But then I'd probably be talking about my first ticket in it.

I was driving back home one night after picking my son up from work when his license was suspended. It was a beautiful night and the top was down. I wasn't really paying attention to how fast I was going and I didn't see the cop and I guess he paced me since my Valentine didn't pick up a cop even being around and it never misses. But I was cruising back and all of a sudden a loud speaker comes on and says, "you know how fast you're going?". I look down and see that I'm doing 75 and let off the gas and wave to him. He just passed me and let me go. It was a 60 mph zone. I told my son, that what age buys you. <lol>

I treat everyone with respect and courtesy up until they wrong me in some way. It's pure jealousy and I've heard similar complaints form other people with nice cars around here. So eat it. TF

[quoted text clipped - 17 lines] > >'67BB & '72BB On more the one occasion I've either had to deal with or heard/seen first hand the jealousy of others over the fact that you have something they covet. I guess they figure that if they can't have something that nice, they aren't going to allow anyone else to either. I have had my Custom Harley f.cked with more then I care to remember. What on earth compels someone to walk up to a bike/car and decide to sit on it, touch it, or otherwise touch something that does not belong to them. Hell I've even had guys hit on my wife in front of me. It has only been out of respect for her wishes that I haven't damn near killed at least two guys.

GeorgeC - 13 Mar 2005 00:36 GMT Wow. Wrong neck of the woods. I've certainly encountered a few jackasses over the years with my Vettes, but nothing like y'all have reported. The kids in the jap-tracks annoy me, but only because they can vote. But for the most part, the Vette actually causes more courteous treatment. Still get all kinds of people making comments about how nice it is, etc. One time I was driving along and a Jeep was headed at me head on, then swerved and hit a Volvo exiting a parking lot. When I stopped and spoke to the kid driving it, he said he just didn't want to hit the Vette, and intentionally swerved, hitting the Volvo!
Then again, I was driving along to work one nice sunny day, forgot the speed limit in this one stretch was 45, zoned out, was (I'm told) doing 67, but keeping up with a Suburban. Next think Evil Knievel is on my tail with his lights and siren. I was on the receiving end of my first ticket, after driving 31 years! I congratulated the cop, shook his hand and asked why me, why not the Suburban. Answer: "you're in the bright red Corvette"
But he didn't spit on me.

In fact, I often see people more aware of the situation, such as moving over from blocking the left lane when I'm behind them.
