1981 Corvette voltage regulator

Can anyone tell me where the voltage regulator would be located.

Is it in the engine compartment on the firewall?

inside the alternator, at the back of the unit, i think, i did not
look this one up.

From 1969, the voltage regulator has been internal to the alternator.
