There's blue "accent" lighting in our Acura TSX that comes on when you turn
on the headlights. For instance, one is in the overhead console, near the
sunglasses holder, which gently illuminates the shifter. Our salesman was
careful to point these lights out. I wonder why the Corvette salesperson
didn't tell you about this feature during the walk through when you picked
it up.

The "console light" is on the the bottom right-hand edge of the rear
view mirror in my C4, is shown in the owner's manual and isn't on the
build list so must have been part of the '89 base package. Have had
this light in rental C5s for '98, '99 and '02. On a blackass night,
this gizmo lights up the inside of the cockpit without screwing up one's
night vision. In human-factors parlance, the color is referred to as,
"low color temperature white."
OK folks, now for the contest--when did this light first appear??
Paul.

I had a similar light on my '77.
Don't know whether the earlier sharks with the early console had the light.
I think the wiper switch was located around that part of the dash.

1977 is when they redesigned the dash. I think it may have been to avoid
the lights on the climate controls and shifter as that is all that lights my
'79. My '68 doesn't have anything like that.
