Hi all-

After many years of lusting after a nice C-3 Vette, I finally found one and
took posession of it today.       It's a pretty nice 1974  with a fair amount
of miles but only 3500 on a rebuilt (top end) 350.   AC, auto (I know, I
know...), new tires, sidepipes and in a coat of beautiful red.

I'm looking forward to diving into it in the coming months as it has quite
a few minor issues to whip into shape.     Most of the common ones I've heard
about are there (vacuum problems with the headlights, leaky t-tops, A/C
issues,  seatbelts, LOTS of heat buildup inside, etc.)  so I have some work
to do.     I'm thinking with the advice of some of the experts here I can
handle most of the small stuff and have already found a few answers just by
reading thru old posts.

Just wanted to say thanks to those who share their knowledge and I anticipate
learning alot by hanging around here.     I'll try to keep the stupid
questions to a minimum but I'm new to this so I'll probably slip one in here
and there.    Please bear with me!    I learn quick so I hope I won't be TOO
annoying for the more knowledgeable folks here......; )

Just wanted to say hello and thanks in advance for all the info I'm sure to
collect in here...!

Cheers!

Hey Pat, CONGRATS!  I'm sure there are tons of other links but this one I
found was pretty good when tracking info on my '73:

hehehehe!! Visions of me laying under a C3 that dropped out of the sky, with
my rainbow stockings sticking out and my pointy shoes curling up after
impact.....
<coughozvisualcough>    :-)

The way the High Pressure systems are looking over the central Gulf Coast
looks like it's going to do like predicted and head across to Texas...
If it steers today will tell, but I don't see it swinging north with the
high
sitting over me steering it westerly.. Hell I'm still clearing Katrina
debris... :-/

Recently there was a thread from an owner who couldn't get his Corvette
to turn over. Maybe he oughta move to Florida!

Either that or sign up for obedience school.

Welcome and enjoy the car! Don't forget to wave! (BTW, I don't limit my
waves to Corvettes - any oldie that captures my appreciation gets a 4
finger salute.)

Welcome as well.  I'm pretty new too, I posted my first message just a few
weeks ago.
I got my 76 back in April and have already done a lot of the things you
mention below.
Let me know if you want specific info since I've picked up a lot of
"experience" already just from the 6 months I've been working on mine.

Regards,
Mark
