Has anyone out there had an experience with replacing a door ajar
switch on a C3? 1975..
There is an access plate in the rear wheel well which i can get to,
however, the riveted receptacle in the body has broken off at the
rivets. The access panel is not large enough to get your hand inside to
reattach the threaded plate. Does anyone know have any ideas on hot to
replace the threaded portin the swith screws into. Can I epoxy it back
or is there some other way? Do they make a replacement receptacle that
mounts in from the front?  Thsnks

I'm not a C3 guy, but here's a couple of thoughts,
assuming I'm picturing this correctly...

Is it possible to remove interior panels behind the door
post to get at that area?

Or, can you get a magnet on a long wand in there to capture the
threaded plate through that wheelwell access plate?
If so, you could get that plate out and clean it up, perhaps you could then
figure out a way to tape it to a long stick and have someone position it
firmly in place (through the wheelwell access) while you use blind
rivets to
attach it to the door post. You also could epoxy it in a similar manner,
ensuring both surfaces are clean & dry, and being careful not to
get epoxy in the switch threads.

Its been at least 10 years since I replaced the switch in my 76....and
honestly I tried several methods and became frustrated with all of
them..... ended up by using 2 part epoxy..

Switch still functions... so "my" repair was good enough for my
purposes..
