Disadvantages:

1. Window has to roll-down completely to open door (massive interior
exposure during inclement weather). Occupant in rear or front who doesn't
plan on getting out is screwed.

2. No B pillar. Lot of body flex expected.

3. No mention of egress method should door malfunction.

That design wouldn't survive past one Minnesota winter.
