i've had my 2004 classic for almost a year. i got it at a kia dealer in
dallas, tx and they didn't tell me if it was a rental or not but after
reading a few things on here im starting to think it might of been a rental.
i really dont care but when i baught the car the rotors were bad and the
windshield leaked terribly and it only had 29,000 miles on it. so i braught
the car back to the dealer i got it from and they fixed the rotors. i had to
fix the windshield but wasnt to expensive. are dealers suppose to check over
the cars be4 they can sell them? i will never buy a car at a kia dealer or in
tx again but i'll never have to worry about that since i dont live in tx
anymore. but now that all that is fixed a few months after getting my car i
put new tires on it, they weren't the greatest when i got the car, it wouldnt
even stop when the road was wet from sprinkles. so i got dunlop tires and
they seem to be good tires. but there is a lot of noise driving down the
highway, so i dont think a new tires will make a difference. and i live in
one of the states that gets pleanty of snow and ice but i just moved back up
here from tx and i havent had to drive it in the stuff yet but my ex did and
he said it was fine so i really cant tell you how good or bad it is in the
snow but it is front wheel drive so it cant be to bad. the only complaint i
have now is when i push the break peddle it makes a weird noise. i'm not sure
what it is but when i get the tires rotated it stops and then starts again
later in the day after driving it, but i dont really have problems stopping.
i read that 2004 malibus have a recall on the brakes and seat belts im not
sure if that includes the classics or not. i have a rattle in the back of my
car by the back window, my ex found it when i thaught i blew a speaker out
but it was a noise coming from where the back speakers are and i also have a
sub in the trunk so im sure that shook something loose and he had to take the
back seat off to wire the car for speakers and all that and he broke a clip
for the back seat but managed to get it back on some how after i had to buy a
n ew clip from the dealer, his biggest problem was getting the seat off.
looking in the malibus and the classics they are basically the same interior
but i would say the classic has a better looking interior or at leats mine
does. and it did come with some scratches on it but after i got it people in
tx could care less about other peoples things i got a lot of door dings in
the side of my doors but thank god they are kinda hard to see.
i dont mind the 4 banger but its not as fast as a 6 but its all good and its
good on gas. it is a little weird that the malibus are a v6 and the classics
are v4 why would they do that?
well all i know now is that to ask for 2003 malibu parts and i love my
classic and the next thing i buy for my car is euro tail lights. they
actually have them and i have never seen a malibu with them but i have seen
them with groun effects but i will not go that far. if anyone is interested
in buying those taillights i found them on ebay under 2003 malibu parts and
they came up.
just a question to all those classic owners did you car come without an
ashtray? i dont smoke but i didnt like the way it looked so i baught one from
the dealer and the thing that holds it in isnt there so i have to be carefull
when pulling on it or it will come straight out. i just figured that the
rental companys take them out. not sure

I bought an 04 classic last August with 32 939 miles on it and i had the
same problem with the brakes making noises and i took it to the dealer and
nothing wrong with it. It just turned 44000 on it and it still does the
noise, but it is a GM car so i hard they will do it. I get 27-33mpg and all
hwy miles on it. My car did have all the parts to it(ashtray and all) i did
have to go get new floor mats. No complaints out of mine yet.
