Monte Carlo and Malibus have the same radio.
Running your lights at half brightness is dumb, I want to see my dashboard.
Also, do you know anything about electronics?
Lightbulbs have many amps passing through them at initial turn-on because
the filiment is cold. When the filiment heats up, it increases its
resistance and the current through it decreases.
Therefore, the more you turn on and off your lights, the weaker the
filiment becomes. It's why lights in your house burn out at turn on and
don't burn out while they are lit.
Keep running your lights at half brightness to save 49 cents worth of light
bulb replacements. You can also tell the officer you were speeding because
you couldn't see your speedometer so you can pay a hefty speeding ticket
but you saved 49 cents on your light bulbs.

Uhm, read it again. I didn't say half brightness. Just turn it down a
notch or two is enough (probably 80%-90% brightness or so). The dash is
till quite visible, even in city driving (and still too bright at that
setting in rural driving where half brightness is actually quite
adequate).
I typically keep my cars 10-15 years. For 40 years of driving now I've
not had a single dash lamp burn out and have not had any problem seeing
the dash. If you do, I suggest an good eye exam is in order.
