my 2000 malibu is making a vroom vroom noise when started and it bounces the car a little sending the rpms to the 3000 ( 3) mark.  We had the gas filter and stuff cleaned out and it still makes the noise and movement.  Makes it hard to back out.  Uses a lot of gas in one day.  Half a tank and have to fillup again. Any help?

Sounds like your fuel pressure regulator is bad....When it starts to
leak it will dmp too much gas and give you a speratic idle like you
state..

Also check that al the vacuum hoses are OK and there not any that are
loose or have holes in them.
