Malibu cruse control

Question please---My wife has a 2000 Malibu and when using the cruse
control a green " Cruse" lite shows up on the inst. panel when the
cruse engages. I have a 2003 Malibu and when the cruse engages there
is no lite on the inst. panel.Has this lite been removed on the 2003's
or is there a problem. Thanks Chuck

It didn't light up on the 2003 Malibu I used to own either...although you
could see where the light should be. Others have said the same thing about
the 2003...they must have disabled it for some reason.

It has been removed. I was used to the light in my 98 and when I purchased
the 2003 I said something to the dealer about the light not showing. He
advised General Motors in their wisdom deemed it an unnecessary item.

Go Figure.

I have a 2003 and it most definitely DOES have the green 'Cruise' indicator
light on the dash (as well as the almost invisible LED on the steering wheel
button.)

Check out http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/ and search the
Service Bulletins, I think you'll find 01413 and 031603 mention this problem
