I would like to get a set of obnoxious blue or purple high-intensity
replacement 9006 low-beam head lamps for my 1999 Malibu - any
suggestions?   Thank you in advance.

And why would you want to do that?  True HID "systems" are several hundred
dollars...more than just bulbs, also includes rewiring and ballast circuitry.
Halogens with the blue filter are bad since the blue filter reduce the amount
of light.

Try posting to alt.autos.driving for some additional advice on the topic.
