Altenators/98 Malibu

Does the 98 Malibu have a long record of altenator replacements? I've just
put the second one on and I'm barely over 80,000 miles.

Yes---all GM products.  Haven't been building alternators very long you
know. Can't expect them to get it right so soon.  Find somebody that
rebuilds auto electrical parts and get it rebuilt.  Should cost about
$60-$70 and you will not have any more problems.
