I use CD-R's almost exclusively in my factory 2000 Delco. I use a various
brands (whatever was cheapest at the time) and I've never had trouble with
playback - could it be your burner?

My husband's '97 Malibu with the factory Delco played CD-R's just fine until
a few months ago. Now it's starting to have problems with any cd, so the
unit must have a problem. When it started acting up, it would no longer
play the 80 minute burned cd's, but would play the 74 minute ones. Then it
would only play the gold backed ones, now it doesn't want to play any cd.
It's been a gradual degradation.

I was told that the issue with some CD players rejecting CD-Rs was a
result of the CD thickness.
