Does anyone know how to remove the manual window crank from the front doors
on a 99 Malibu?
I can find the screws that hold the door, but cant see a way to remove the
crank without breaking it.

If it's like the cranks back in the 60's and 70's...there is a retaining clip
behind the crank that holds the crank to the shaft.  Push the door panel in
some so you can get a look behind the crank and see if there is a clip back
there.

There is a special tool to remove the clip, if it has one.  Just push
the door panel away a bit and see if you can see wire clip.

If it is held in place with a clip, just ask at any auto parts store,
they should have the tool you need.

The older ones (until I got electric windows) from GM all used a clip.
The tool pushes it off.  To re-install, put the clip on the crank, and
push onto the shaft.  All the easier on the assembly line.
