I have a 99 Malibu and a under the dash alarm goes off (for about 5
seconds) when accelerating from a complete stop, no other time.  No
dash warning lights come on and I have checked all fluid levels,
everything seems to be working okay.

Can anyone help?

Did you release the parking brake that located on the front-left of driver
side?

Thanks for leading me down the right road.  The problem was that the
parking brake switch was broken and making contact all the time,
thinking that the brake was on and sounding the alarm and causing my
daytime running lights not to come on.  I didn't have the light
problem until the copper lever on the switch completely broke off.  I
replaced the switch today and everything is working fine.

Thanks to all!

Are you wearing your seat belt? I had a car that would chime very low and I
couldn't figure it out what was up. then one day I put belt on and it didn't
come on.
Let me know if that's it. Doug firediv@hotmail.com
