You can't check it. It's a sealed "better idea" system!

No dipstick but you can check it.
With car at normal working temp, move the shift stick thru all the positions
and end in parking, remove the tranny check plug (in front and above the
engine oil plug in my V6), you want to have some minor fluid dripping out,
if lots pour out, it was overfilled, if nothing pours out, add small amounts
at a time until some fluid start dripping from the check plug hole. The
tranny fill cap is a red plastic cap somewhat bellow the brakes master
cylinder (in my V6). Engine has to be running when doing the above and car
has to be level. I am no mechanic BTW, but have done the above, the
procedure is from the Haynes Repair Guide. Safely raise the vehicle, be
careful when under it, when in doubt, pay someone to do it for you.

I had that same question and found out that it cannot be checked, so I am
glad to hear that someone figured it out. Do you have any idea what type
of transmission fluid to use? I mean, can I use any off-the-shelf
transmission fluid or does it need a certain type, like a specific GM
transmission fluid?
